    Lucas is going to talk about what he does as a foley artist. Why do we need foley and what does it make for the movie? The difference between foley for live action movies and animated movies. Lucas is also going to show examples of movies that I worked with, with sound before and after my work. Maybe he even brings some stuff with him and do some live foley action and if anyone in the audience wanna try, they are welcome.

    In his presentation‚ 'VFX of Jim Button and Luke the Engine driver’, one of the most expensive movies ever produced in Germany, Juri will give an insight into the Mandala sequence of the movie. He’ll be talking about the development and design of the kingdom – from beginning of the shoot through to the final sequence. He’ll also explain why and how they used Ncam, a realtime feedback on set, during set supervision, and how it helped with the entire creative process of creating full CG environments afterwards.

    Petter Lindblad will moderate a session about Work in progress in Swedish animation, together with three filmproducers from Sweden.

    • Malin Erixon will tell us about her upcoming project which is an animated documentary series, a short film and an augmented reality experience. White men around the age of 40 discuss life and reveal how difficult it can be to see the privileged situation you are in. Satire and seriousness are mixed when documentary audio material meets fictional animated characters.
    • Marika Heidebäck will tell us about her new project, which is a feature length animated documentary about family secrets, longing and the importance of imagination and freedom to play.
    • Niki Lindroth von Bahr will tell us about her success with her short film "My Burden", the lessons she learned from it and how she intends for future projects about length, technology and so on.

    Per Åhlin started his career in animation 1964 with the unconventional title sequences for the feature film, Svenska Bilder (Swedish Images). 50 years later he can look back over a plethora of pioneering feature films and tv-series. Åhlin will tell us about his long career in an on stage discussion with Elisabeth Lysander, author of the biography Per Åhlin – bildmakare and animatör.

    Trond Atle is presenting a project Nordic Media Lab did for the City of Sarpsborg, where they made a film which showed what a part of the city could look like in the future. They were using the game engine Unreal for the production which gave them possibilities they would not have had with standard tools for film production.

    Ivan will show some of the work that has been done at Ghost VFX and give a brief presentation of the company. Then he will move on to show some of the environment work that was done for Star Wars Rogue One. His main focus will be on the process of building the Yavin rebel base. Ivan will highlight some of the design choices and technical challenges with this project.

    Director and VFX Supervisor Hugo Guerra talks about his "remote pipelines" to create 3 brand new trailers. We dive into the 2.5D pipeline of "The Walking Dead March to War" using "time-lapse matte paintings" and a Kinect for motion capture. We talk about the real-time pipelines of the "Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle" reveal trailer. We showcase the full CG and animation remote workflows of The "Heroes Arena" cinematic.

Discover how the Finnish studio team brought the universe of Gigglebug and his friends to life using TVPaint. From an iOS application to an animated TV series, Sirkkola will walk you through the production process and answer your questions.

    Brands and innovators have always had a need for imagery to communicate their ideas, nothing new there. However unique challenges arise when you’re trying to convince someone of the benefits of your product when said product have yet to take physical form. Enter visualization, CGI and VFX. This presentation will be a short walkthrough of how we make configurable images of premium car models from start to finish. It will talk about the challenges we have encountered how we formed our team to meet the expectations.
