Marika Heidebäck is a director and writer. She graduated from the National Film School of Sweden in 2002. She has since been working with documentary and animation films for young adults and children.
Selected filmography includes the 2014 animated film for children, What if…, co-written and directed with Linda Hambäck, the 2009 documentary, Wanted to be friends, and Holly Gets Even (2006), animation for kids.
Alongside directing and writing, Marika Heidebäck has conducted animation workshops in Gaza, Palestine and Jordan over the last decade.
She is currently developing a coming of age story for tweens together with Gargefilm. It will be a feature-length animated documentary about family secrets, longing, the importance of imagination and freedom to play
