Lasse Persson is an animator, director and film producer. He trained in animation in Canada, where he also lived and worked as an animator in film projects led by Oscar-winning filmmakers Derek Lamb and Kaj Pindal.
Since 1995 he has run the independent production company Swedish Ecstasy Film. Lasse has created a large number of acclaimed short films that have been awarded with awards at film festivals around the world and shown on TV channels such as American MTV, French ARTE and British Channel Four. Early titles include “Honey-Bunny”, 1992, “Hand in Hand”, 1996 and “Bikini”, 2005.
Lasse Persson is changeable in appearance – sometimes male, sometimes female. As a female, she is called Lisa Tulin. A recurrent theme in Lasse/Lisa’s films is gender issues. ”To be two” from 2020 is the latest example.In 2013,
Lasse/Lisa received the Premio Maguey Award “for your path as a Cult Movie Director” at the Guadalajara Film Festival, Mexico. At the 2016 Hiroshima International Animation Film Festival, Lasse/Lisa belonged to the jury.
On March 15th, 2019, the short film program “Giraffe’s Bicycle – a giggly movie package by Lasse & Lisa” premiered, which has been shown at cinemas throughout Sweden during the year.
Lasse’s latest films are Corona on the Fridge, Art on the Fridge and Blood on the Fridge. The three films are based on preschool children drawings
