Katti Hoflin, Region Västra Götaland’s new director of cultural affairs, will officially open the Trollywood Animation Festival 2018.
Katti Hoflin became the region’s director of cultural affairs in February after leaving her role as head librarian for the City Library in Stockholm. Hoflin is also chairwoman of the government’s delegation for encouraging children to read, Läsdelegationen. Previously, she has been director of Dunkers kulturhus and Helsingborg’s School of Culture and City Museum. She has also been the director of child and youth activities at Kulturhuset in Stockholm and has advised the Swedish Arts Council.
Hoflin has worked as a musician and writer, but she is perhaps best known as presenter for Swedish Television’s (SVT) children and youth programs, Bullen, Bolibompa and Nu är det nu!.
She is passionate about culture for children and young people, and believes that if you miss them, you miss everything. She wants all children and adolescents to have access to a rich language and arts experiences and connect with their own creativity.
