It’s our great pleasure to invite you to the academic track, part of Trollywood Animation Festival 2025. This year’s event takes place in Trollhättan, Sweden and is organized by University West and Trollywood Animation Festival. 

About our Conference

Trollywood animation festival has a rich history of showcasing both cutting edge animation and visual effects, as well as giving independent animators and creators a place to present their work and facilitating the exchange of innovative ideas. Over the years, Trollywood Animation Festival has gathered interest and respect among both visitors and presenters interested in the field of Animation, and many participants return to participate year after year. 

The academic track, introduced last year, is a conference where academics and practitioners in the field of animation, and related fields (see list of topics below) have the opportunity to send in papers for feedback and discussions. This is meant to be a Work-in-progress-conference, meaning that it’s a safe zone for submitting papers describing ideas or projects that are not yet finished. Our hope is that it will become a place for exchanging ideas, improving on our papers and overall strengthening the academic side of our field.

Guide for Authors

Authors are encouraged to submit their latest research, case studies, and technological advancements aligned with the conference theme and topics of interest. The following formats are accepted:
Short Paper, 1500-2000 words

Abstract, 500-1000 words

While this is a Work-in-progress-conference we still advise to present the ideas and progress as clearly as possible, supported by references APA 7th. All submissions should be in English language and saved as PDF. For detailed guidelines on abstract formatting, paper submission, and other relevant information, please visit our website:

Accepted submissions are presented live/oral at the venue/event within a 20 minutes time frame. It is recommended to use 15 minutes to present and 5 minutes for feedback and discussion.
